  1. Hello Marissa! I just found you on frugallivingnw and am excited about checking out your site! I too am gf and I don't like to cook either but do because I have to;) I have a husband aka Mr Wonderful and 4 darling kids!! Thot I'd leave a quick comment - last time I was gonna buy Johnny's at Costco I decided to check the ingredients again ( I know, I should check EVERYTHING, EVERY TIME I buy it) and it said Contains: Wheat! Are you aware of this?! I was so so bummed as I used it quite often. I have Hashimoto (auto-immune of the thyroid) and am not supposed to eat a speck of gluten:( SO glad I found your site and can't wait to try out some of your recipes;) Thanks!!

  2. Janna,
THANK YOU THANK YOU!! I'm so sorry I never thought to check Johnny's!! I have Hashimoto's as well. I use Johnny's quite often. :( I will have to look for an alternative now...and update some of these posts, for sure! Shoot! Always something new to learn. Thanks again for commenting. Hope you enjoy the blog and hopefully will hear from you again sometime. :)

(Argh!! I'm so bummed about Johnny's!)

  3. Ok, after more research, it appears there is some confusion about Johnny's and gluten. The original Johnny's has MSG (which is not a gluten-derived product, as many believe, as did I)and is, in fact gluten-free. Although, I try to avoid MSG at all costs as it's a terrible chemical/drug and neurotransmitter. BUT, the Johnny's that says NO MSG added, DOES have wheat/gluten. Sheesh!! What silliness! I guess, the moral of the story is: Original Johnny's is technically gluten-free. Could it GET any more convoluted?!?

  4. REALLY??! I hope thats right!!! I'd be so pumped!! I guess I didn't notice if the one I looked at at Costco said NO MSG or not. Just know it said Contains: Wheat! So I will check into it more too! I called on SeasonAll and they say its gluten free so I've been using that. Can't believe you have Hashimoto too:( So sorry for you. Seems there are more and more thryroid problems every day!

  5. I'm bummed, either way. It's dumb that they have either the original which is gluten-free, but full of MSG. Yuck! Or the no msg added which has wheat. Super lame. I will have to try SeasonAll or some other kind. I've never even looked for anything else before. Oh well.
Yeah, these auto-immune/thyroid problems for people sure are getting more and more prevalent. It's crazy.
